Rodney M. King, of Pittsburgh, passed away on July 9th, 2024 at the age of 64. Rodney was the loving companion of Lisa Piscitelli for twenty years; the father of David (Kelly) King; the brother of Kathleen King Todd; the step-father of Alyssa, Nadia, and Lia, and the step-grandfather of Adalina Bracco. Rodney is preceded in death by his loving parents the late Herman and Gloria Jean (Doyle) King, his siblings, the late Thomas A. King (Christine survives), the late Patricia King Tener (late David), and the late David King. Rodney is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Rodney served honorably in the United States Navy and worked as a welder for much of his life. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends where he was always the “life of the party.” Rodney found peace and solace in his backyard where he fed the local wildlife. He was an avid churchgoer and read the Bible diligently.
Friends and Family to be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall 15120, on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 2 – 4 PM and 6 -8 PM. A blessing service will take place that evening at 7:30 PM. Rodney had a special relationship with Lisa’s mother, Vern Piscitelli, who will be officiating the services.
A funeral wake will be held to celebrate Rodney’s life at West Mifflin VFC #3 at 3722 Rodeo Drive, West Mifflin, 15122, on Sunday, July 14 from 2 – 4 PM.
