Susanne (Kynor) McCallister

Susanne McCallister, age 85, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

A kind, caring, and gentle woman adored by all who knew her, Sue was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Donald McCallister, whom she missed every day. They are now reunited once again.

She is survived by her children, Eddie (Dawn) McCallister, Diane (Randy) Zilko, Sharon McCallister, and Shawn (Beth) McCallister. She also leaves behind her greatest pride and joy - the people who lovingly called her “Mammau,” her grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) Hahn, Brandon McCallister, Katelyn (Dustin) Hess, Cory (Danielle) Hahn, Brian (Krista) McCallister, Briana (Cullen) Bugel, Courtney (Donny) Ross, Ashley (Brian) Szabo, Brooke McCallister, and Ryan McCallister; as well as 16 cherished great-grandchildren, with one more precious blessing on the way.

Sue devoted her life to her family and carried on the wonderful traditions she and Don created together. Family meant everything to her. Her home was always open, welcoming anyone who stopped by. You could always count on finding candy jars filled, an old episode of Murder, She Wrote or Jeopardy! playing on the television, and time spent sharing sweet conversations.

She will be remembered for her delicious homemade pies, her warm heart, and her love of elephants, which always brought a smile to her face. Hers was truly a life well lived, filled with love, generosity, and devotion to those she cherished.

Your work here is done, sweet lady. Rest easy, give Dad a big hug for us, and know that your love and legacy will live on in all of us.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 29, 2-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 30, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. Interment to follow at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, Munhall.
