Therese A. "Terry" Kostrub, of Munhall, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on July 23, 2023, at the age of 95.
She was the beloved wife of 61 years of the late John Kostrub; loving mother of J. Regis (Beverly) Kostrub, Janice (Paul) Malloy, Joyce Ann (Terry) Brown, and John (Lisa) Kostrub; cherished grandmother of Daniel Douglas (Ashley) Kostrub, Diana Therese (Nick) Barney, and Katelyn Marie Kostrub; great-grandmother of Brady and Collin; daughter of the late John and Mary (Hrico) Smidansky; and sister of the late Joseph (Mary) Smidansky, Mary L. (John) Magnus, Albert (Mary) Smidansky, Bernard (Marie) Smidansky, Agnes Smidansky, John "Bud" Smidansky, and Veronica (Joe) Wassil. Terry was very proud of her many nieces and nephews, and loved them all deeply.
Terry was a dedicated employee of Jefferson Hospital for forty years. She served as Vice-President of Medical Staff Services. Her work enabled her to travel and see much of the United States. She served as secretary of the National Association of Medical Staff Services. She was a lifelong member of St. Therese Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, and served as a member of the Parish Council. Other memberships included Friends of the Library - Carnegie Library of Homestead, the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society (1986 - 1992), and the Munhall Garden Club. Terry loved her garden and took special pride in her yard and her home. She loved her family and enjoyed yearly beach vacations to Ocean City, NJ, and loved weekends with John and family in Tionesta. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the AHN Hospice Team for their compassionate care, and a heartfelt thanks goes to her wonderful caregivers, Charnel, Lynn, Kathy, Barbara, Lawanda, and Lorna.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 25, 4-8 PM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 10 AM, at the St. Therese of Lisieux Church of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. She will join her beloved husband, John, at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Munhall.
