Valentino F. "Dino" Barisano Obituary

Valentino Frank “Dino” Barisano died peacefully at home of natural causes on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, while comforted by his three children just two weeks shy of his 99th birthday.

He was born on February 14, 1925, St. Valentines Day, in the Hazelwood section of Pittsburgh. He was the son of Italian immigrants Santa (DiPenta) and Domenico Barisano.

Valentino served in WWII as a Radio Operator for the US Army Air Force. He was a 30 year employee as Craneman at US Steel Structural Mill Homestead Works and a lifetime Pirates baseball fan.

He was the beloved husband of 60 years of the late Carmela T. "Shirley" (Spina) Barisano; father of Domenic Barisano, Elaine Quinn, and Nancy (James, Jr.) Monda; grandfather of Michael, Carrie (Adam), Chelsea (Tyler), Kevin, Jason, Anthony (Erin), Gregory (fiancée, Kaitlin), and the late Brian; great-grandfather of Jordynn, Liliana, Quinn, Nolan, and Samuel; and brother of the late Adam Barisano.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 3, 12 Noon - 2 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. Funeral Services will be private. Dino will join his beloved wife, Carmela, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
