Virginia L. (Reutzel) Amend

Virginia L. Amend, of Munhall, was welcomed home on Christmas Day following a long and valiant battle with chronic kidney disease at the age of 76.

She was the loving mother of James Amend, Jamie Amend, Michelle (Robert) Leslie, and the late Crystal Lynn Amend, Michael Amend and Rodney Phillips; adoring grandmother of Jodi, Renee, James, Jr., Shaunasi, Miriah, Erika, Jordan, Crystal, Bobby, Marissa, and Trista; great-grandmother of 4; daughter of the late Henry J. and Virginia T. (Lovich) Reutzel; sister of Marie (the late Bill) Horn, Nancy (Bill) Jackson, Cecilia (Sam) Foor, Chuck (Barb) Reutzel, and the late Henry (Virginia) Reutzel and Jane (Bob) Parker; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Virginia loved to bake, crochet, garden, and play board and card games with her friends and family. She was a phenomenal dancer, and especially enjoyed country and old rock music. She was a passionate cake decorator at the Homestead Shop'n Save prior to her retirement, and was widely considered by her customers to be the best in the business. Above all, Virginia was a kind, generous, and loving person who would do anything to help a person in need.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 11, 11 AM - 12 noon at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120, where a Memorial Service will follow at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, or to a trusted domestic violence shelter of your choice.
