Clara M. Alesius, 89, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Parkersburg, WV. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Alesius, to whom she was married for 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Carmine and Assunta (Iacobucci) Rocci. Born August 3, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Schenley High School in Pittsburgh and raised her family in nearby West Mifflin, PA. Clara served many years as a school crossing guard for the West Mifflin School District. Upon moving to Parkersburg in 1991, she enjoyed retirement life with Ed and her friends at Lakeview Estates apartments. Among her passions, Clara enjoyed working at her church bingo and was an avid bingo player herself. An occasional trip to the casino to play the slot machines always brought a smile to her face. She loved playing cards, or a game of Scrabble, and doing crosswords too. A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she would not take phone calls or visits because that would disturb viewing a Steelers game on TV! Clara was also well known for her handiwork, latch-hooking beautiful works hung in her home and given to family and friends. She lived out her faith in God as a devout member of the Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed.
Clara is survived by her sons, Alan Alesius (Suzie), and Keith Alesius (Tammy), by daughter-in-law, Sabena Alesius, by grandchildren: Ashley (John), Christian, Eric and Victoria Alesius and great granddaughter Kelsey Alesius. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Kennedy. She was predeceased by her two sons Charles and Robert Alesius, grandsons Anthony and Adam Alesius and by brothers Salvatore & Vince Rocci and sisters, Josephine Scarpitti & Corrine Bradley.
