Dr. Roseanne Marie Hickey

Of Pittsburgh, peacefully with her family by her side, on Thursday, July 30, 2020.  Daughter of the late Michael Hickey and Ethel (Harris) Woodburn; sister of Michael Hickey (Pam), Harold Woodburn (Kathleen), Ida Kier and the late Thomas Hickey and Terrence Hickey; loving aunt to David Hickey, Christine Woodburn (Matthew Heilman), Michelle Smith (Mark), Michael Woodburn (Kate), Justin Kier (Hannah Sykes) and the late Thomas Hickey; great-aunt to Jessica Patrick (Jon), Jaclyn Arsenault (Jesse) and Sophie Smith; great-great aunt to Josiah Arsenault; dear friend of Linda Holden.  Roseanne was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a Ph.D. in Psychology. She was a longtime member of the American Psychological Association and was a past president and legacy award winner of the Greater Pittsburgh Psychological Association. She taught in the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, was the former director of the counseling center at Carnegie Mellon University and owned her own psychology practice for many years. Roseanne had a way with people that made them feel comfortable from the very first time that they met her. She was kind-hearted, always willing to lend an ear and cared deeply for her family, friends, and especially her poodle, Oliver.   Roseanne’s faith was incredibly important to her and prior to attending college, she entered the convent serving God as Sister Terrence of the Vincentian Sisters of Charity. She was a voracious reader, world-traveler, lover of animals, and self-proclaimed number one fan of Bruce Springsteen! She loved her life!  Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 3rd, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass which will be at 12 Noon at St. Therese Church, St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall. Dr. Roseanne's service will also be live streamed on the Steel Valley Catholic Youtube Channel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Humane Animal Rescue.
