Elizabeth (aka Betty, Liz, Bubby) Hischuck Pristas, formerly of Whitaker, was carried away by angels on the morning of August 9, 2022. After living a very full life, she simply passed peacefully of old age. Elizabeth grew up in the small mining town of Yatesboro, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Ann Hischuck and the step-daughter of the late Mary Hischuck. She had many lifelong friends and loved to tell stories of her childhood adventures. Following high school graduation Elizabeth attended the McKeesport School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse. Following this career she met and married the late Elmer Pristas and became the mother of Joe, Shirley (Norman) Feschuk, Gloria (Tim) Erney and Davey (Regina Gilarski). These characters made for a very busy life, however, Elizabeth still found time to be a den mother, bingo player, church volunteer, pirohi maker and Tri Boro Senior. She was a wonderful cook and baker. We could smell the donuts frying when we got off the school bus. Sunday dinner was a real production. Our Mama would be dancing to polkas as she prepared our Sunday meal. Elizabeth was a fan of Pirate baseball, Steeler football and the "Boys of Winter," the Pens!! You could often hear her arguing with the refs! She also enjoyed Tyler Perry movies, word search puzzles and crocheting. Betty was the proud "Bubby" of Patience, Jeremy, Elliot, Sarah, Nathan and the late Zachary. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Our beloved Elizabeth was the glue that held the factory together and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 12 from 2 - 8 PM at the Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main St., Munhall, PA. A Panachida Service will take place at 3 PM on Friday. A Funeral Service will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, August 13 at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Cathedral, Munhall. Interment St. John Cemetery.
