Joan D. (Katrinsak) O'Brien

Joan D. O'Brien, of West Mifflin, formerly of New Homestead, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at home on September 12, 2021, at the age of 89. She was welcomed home by her late husband of 59 years, David B. O'Brien; son, Billy O'Brien; and parents, Alexander and Margaret (O'Toole) Katrinsak. She is survived by her children, James (Bonita) O'Brien and Leann (Bob) Heflin; beloved Me-Ma of Connor, Colton, and Jonathan Heflin who were her rays of sushine; grandmother of Corey and Carlee O'Brien; best friend of Mary Carol Watson, Cookie Daerr, and the late Dee Bodnar; also survived by cousin, Carol Lee Bernard; and other cousins. Joan was a member of the Christian Mothers at Holy Angels Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish and the West Mifflin chapter of the AARP, and she helped to run her husbands home improvement business for many years. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 15, 6-8 PM and Thursday, September 16, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 17, 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish, Hays.
