Irene J. (McCloskey) Welsh

Of Swissvale formerly of West Mifflin, on April 11, 2018, age 86 ½.   Daughter of the late Joseph and Julia McCloskey; beloved wife of 50 years to the late William Welsh; mother of Jo Ellen (Paul A. Sabol) Welsh of Swisshelm Park and James (partner James Hodges) Welsh of Swissvale; sister of Dorothy (Donald) Valcho of Monroeville; cherished niece of John Bruce of Woodstock, GA; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.  Irene was a school crossing guard for West Mifflin School District and was a former production  accounting clerk at US Steel Homestead Works.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 10 AM at Holy Angels Church, Hays.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Animal Rescue 6926 Hamilton Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15208 or the Little Sisters of the Poor 1028 Benton Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
