Alice Marie (Bernd) Manfredi

Formerly of West Mifflin, on February 26, 2021, age 89.  Daughter of the late Charles and Viola (Bowers) Bernd; beloved wife of 63 years of the late Edward A. Manfredi; mother of Edward V. (Judith) Manfredi and the late Vincent Manfredi;  sister of Mary Lou (Joe) Falce, Gertrude (late Eugene) Senich and the late Clarence Bernd, Edward Bernd, Russell Bernd, Ruth Racko, Raymond Bernd, Anna Mae Vamos, Betty Whiteman and Robert Bernd; grandmother of Christina McKinley, Michelle (Neal) Hall, Jessica Manfredi and the late Angela Manfredi; great grandmother of Jameson and Caden McKinley and Hunter Hall. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends of all her granddaughters’ former teammates.   Alice was a retired salesclerk from Gimbels and a former salesclerk with A & P Markets and Joseph Horne Co.  She was an active member of the West Mifflin Lions, ISDA Victory Lodge 33 where she served as treasurer and Holy Angels Church.    She was a former committee person with the West Mifflin Democratic party for over 40 years.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to the casino and was the biggest Pittsburgh Pirate fan you could ever meet.  She was the number one fan of her three granddaughters who played basketball and soccer. Alice’s friendly demeanor and gentle nature endeared her to all who met her.  She will be dearly missed.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Thursday, March 4, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 5, 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Church, Blessed Trinity Parish.  Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the West Mifflin Lions Club.
