Bertha "Boots" Chopnak, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on August 27, 2021, at the age of 85. She was the daughter of John and Mary Lucas; wife of 65 years of Andrew "Chopper" Chopnak; mother of Karen (Jon) Littlefield of Pinehurst, NC, and Charlene "Cricket" (Kerry) Atkinson of Penngrove, CA. She was the last surviving sister of the late John Lucas, Helen Philip, Mary Bonach and Rose Pingor. She graduated from Munhall High School and Earl Wheeler Modeling School. After a successful modeling career and raising her family, she was employed by Mellon Bank and the South Hills Health System. She was active in the Brierly Heights Women's Club and she was an avid golfer. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 8, 6-9 PM and Thursday, September 9, 1-4 & 6-9 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120, where a Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 10, at 10 AM. The Very Rev. R. Michael Zak of St. Nicholas Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church will preside. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or to Camp Nazareth Retreat and Conference Center.
