Gertrude I. (Bernd) Senich

Gertrude I. Senich (Bernd) of West Mifflin, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the age of 87.  Gertrude was born Sept. 28, 1933 In Homestead to the late Charles and Viola (Bowers) Bernd.  Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Eugene E. Senich.  Loving mother of John (Linda) Senich of Chesapeake, VA and Jean (Dean) Hurrell of Virginia beach, VA.  Sister of Mary Lou (Joe) Falce and the late Alice Manfredi, Clarence Bernd, Edward Bernd, Russell Bernd, Ruth Racko, Raymond Bernd, Anna Mae Vamos, Betty Whiteman and Robert Bernd.  Grandmother of Thomas and Mallory Senich, Lauren (Ryan) Brink and Scott (Jillian) Hurrell.  Great grandmother of Reid and Kinleigh Brink.  Gertie was a homemaker and caregiver most of her life and enjoyed her time spent working at Falce's Restaurant in Munhall.  She loved the opportunity to bowl and play pinochle with her lady friends and looked forward to casino bus trips with her sisters.  Gertie was a true Pittsburgh fan and enjoyed watching the Steelers and Pirates games.  She was active in Holy Spirit Church and was a devoted Christian.  She truly loved her daily conversations with her sisters, Mary Lou and the late Alice who the family lovingly referred to as the "Golden Girls".  Friends will be received Thursday, March 18, from 2 - 4 and 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 19, 10 AM, at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, Holy Spirit Church, West Mifflin.  Entombent to follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin.
