James F. Hodnik Sr.

Of Munhall, on March 11, 2022, age 89.  Son of the late Frank and Mary (Martin) Hodnik; beloved husband of 65 years of the late Dorothy M. (Buban) Hodnik; loving father of William Hodnik, Donna (Bob) Wolf, Carolyn (Craig) Zender, James Hodnik Jr., and the late Michael (Paula survives) Hodnik and Joyce (Brian survives) Barefoot; brother of the late George and Mike Chervenak; grandfather of Thomas Barefoot, Kelly Barefoot, Erin (Morgan) McMaster, Melissa Zender and Marty Zender; also survived by many nieces and nephews.  James was a Veteran of the Marines serving as Corporal during the Korean War.  He was a Craneman for US Steel Duquesne Works.  James was an extremely positive gentleman who enjoyed painting, woodworking, and cooking.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Therese Church, St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.  Burial to take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
