John J. Asmonga, of Pleasant Hills, passed away on November 29, 2021, at the age of 75. Son of the late John A. and Helen T. (Dumblawskas) Asmonga; husband of 50 years of Linda M. (Spudich) Asmonga; survived by his sister, Janet L. Varga and her daughter, Amy E. (Jay) Konesky and many other loving nieces and nephews; brother-in-law of Joseph D. (Karen) Spudich, Mark A. (Joyce) Spudich, Thomas A. (Cindy) Spudich, Michael A. (Carole) Spudich and David (Beverly) Spudich.
John was a graduate of LaRoche College with a degree in art and design. He was a commercial interior designer and former designer with G.C. Murphy Co. and Morgan & Lindsay Corp. John was a former instructor at IUP, LaRoche, CCAC and WCCC and was a Veteran of the Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed woodworking and organic gardening. He was also the former secretary of the Homestead and Mifflin Township Historical Society.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 10, 9-10 AM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120, where a Memorial Service will follow at 10 AM. Inurnment will follow at 2 PM on Friday at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Everyone to meet at the Cemetery by 1:45 PM.
