John M. "Jack" Merisko, Jr.

John M. "Jack" Merisko, Jr., of Munhall, entered through the Gates of Heaven on November 24, 2020, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Judith (Charney) Merisko; father of Jill (Jeff) Brooks, Jeanne (Matthew) Glenn, Joy (Kevin) Tomasic, and the late John Merisko; loving "Pap Jack" to grandchildren, Michael and Gillian Brooks, Madeline, Jackson, Christian, and Katie Glenn, and Brandon, Nathan, Cailyn, and John Tomasic; son of the late John M., Sr., and Anna (Regosh) Merisko; brother of Raymond (Rose) Merisko and Eleanor (Al) Hruska. Jack attended Slippery Rock University where he received his Bachelors in Education, and later, received his Masters in Biology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a biology teacher at the West Mifflin Area High School for 32 years prior to retirement. Jack enjoyed fishing, playing the piano and accordion, writing poetry and attending daily Mass to worship his Savior. He most importantly loved spending time with his cherished family. Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 27, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 28, 10 AM, at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Therese Church, Munhall. EVERYONE TO MEET AT CHURCH. Private entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be left at www.swgfuneralhome.com.
