Katherine Anne (Ruyechan) Kasarda

Of Munhall, unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022, age 92.  Born March 15, 1929 to Vid and Jela (Mesarich) Ruyechan; beloved wife of 45 years to the late Andrew Kasarda; loving mother of Laurie (Richard) Brennan, Kevin Kasarda and the late Andy Kasarda; devoted Grandma Katie to Samantha Shields, Jennifer (Jack) Lavelle, Ryan, Sean and Patrick Brennan and Meghan and Connor Kasarda; sister of the late Michael (Theresa), William (Mary), Frank, Joseph (Dorothy), Rudy, Helen (John) Blazina, John, Charles (Dorothy), and Nick (Josephine); sister in law of the late Michael (Martha) Kasarda and MaryAnn (Robert) Pollack; aunt to many cherished nieces and nephews.  Katie loved her Croatian heritage, her Rankin roots and her God.  With a little help from her friends, family and wonderful neighbors, she remained vibrant and independent, always ready with a kind word or sermon depending what she thought you needed.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Thursday January 20^th from 3-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by her nephew, Fr. Matt Ruyechan, on Friday January 21^st at 11 AM at St. Therese Church, St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Munhall.  Burial to follow at Monongahela Cemetery.
