Richard T. "Dirk" Solo

Of West Homestead, on March 6, 2023, age 86.  Son of the late Carl and Gertrude (Noroski) Solo; beloved husband of 54 years of Mary Lou (Riser) Solo; father of Thomas (Theresa Haines) Solo, Susan (Ian) Johnson, Michael (Gerri) Morrow, Cynthia (Wayne) Vogt, Cheryl (Michael) Fischetti and the late Daniel (wife, Debbie survives) Morrow, Jalna Solo and Richard T. Solo Jr.; brother of Marcia (late Edward) Davies and Carolyn (John) Pollard; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  Richard was a machine operator for 42 years for ASKO, Inc. in West Homestead.  He enjoyed golfing, traveling, antique cars and playing the lottery.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Wednesday from 3-7 PM.  A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, 11 AM at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Richard’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Association or the Animal Rescue League, Wilkinsburg.
