William S. Sharkey Jr.

Age 67, of Munhall, passed away on June 29, 2020.  Beloved husband for 45 years of Deborah; cherished father of Neal (Trish), Kristen (Luke) Bodnar and William (Jennifer); proud grandfather of  McKenna and Declan; step-grandfather of Hannah, Grace, Liam and Maddie; son of the late William and Jane (Conrad)  Sharkey; Preceded in death by brother Daniel; Survived by sister Jane (Dennis) Kerrigan and brother James; brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and great-uncle of a large, loving, extended family.

Bill was an animal lover, a voracious reader, and an ingenious jack of all trades.  An avid gardener, he was the 1996 recipient of the Jules Filo award.  He was an inventor and holds several patents for water conservation.  He took great pleasure in sharing his vast knowledge and memories of his time as a foreman at Carrie furnace while serving as a tour guide with the Rivers of Steel.  He was a true renaissance man who loved being surrounded by family, enjoying his home-cooked meals and hospitality.  No one ever left his home empty-handed.  Service are private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N.
