Alexander A. Arendas

Of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Scott Township, passed away at the age of 89 after a 20 month struggle with lung cancer.  Son of the late John and Mary (Balog) Arendash; beloved husband of 66 years of Ann (Bozdos) Arendas; loving father of Rick (Cathy) Arendas of Peters Twp., Jane Arendas of Carnegie and the late David (Carlene survives) Arendas; brother of the late Michael and John Arendash; also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Alex was an Army veteran of WWII and co-owner of Beerzies Tavern in Whitaker before resuming his career at Pennsylvania Transformer/McGraw Edison in Canonsburg, PA.  Friends and family will be received at the Savolskis - Wasik - Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a  Panachida Service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Homestead at 10:30 a.m.  Please meet at the church followed by  a Private Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
