Formerly of Munhall Gardens, on July 1, 2015, age 70. Beloved son of the late John P. and Helen (Yadvis) Vojtek; brother of Bonnie (Joseph) DiCarlo of Pittsburgh, Anita Walsh (Tim Grupac) of Penn Twp., Mary Ellen Vojtek (Doug Hamilton) of Los Angeles, CA, Paul (Diane) Vojtek of Erie, Ed (Michelle) Vojtek of Monroeville and the late Thomas Vojtek; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and parish families. Friends received Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and Monday 2 to 4 pm. Translation Service Monday 7 pm in St. Rita Church, 219 W. Schwab Avenue, Munhall, followed by visitation until 9 pm. Additional visitation will be held Tuesday 9 am until the Funeral Mass at 11 am. Fr. Vojtek was an outstanding athlete at Munhall High School. He was ordained a priest in 1976 by Bishop Vincent Leonard. He served as a priest at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Glenshaw, St. Mary Parish, Beaver Falls, St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, East McKeesport, St. Bonaventure Parish, Glenshaw, St. Philip and James Parish, New Castle, Madonna of Czestochowa Parish, New Castle, St. Joseph Parish, Aliquippa and pastor of All Saints Parish, Pittsburgh and Transfiguration Parish, Russellton. Fr. Vojtek was a passionate supporter of the unborn child and the Pro-Life movement. He was a sports enthusiast and loved playing golf, in which he always overestimated his capabilities. He was a great bowler and truly loved his time spent at the Club Alley’s in Homestead and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your home parish in Fr. Vojtek’s memory.
