Algerd S. Patterson

Of West Mifflin, on June 11, 2016, age 95.  Son of the late Stephen and Antoinette Patterson;  beloved husband of the late Alice (Millus) Patterson and the late Dolores (Kostelnik) Patterson; loving father of David (Debbie) Patterson, Gerry Patterson, and Marianne (Rich) Mader; step father of John (Karen) Kostelnik and Martin (Cindy) Kostelnik; brother of Dolores Carr and the late Sr. Mary Virginia Pask O.S.F., Beatrice Rodgers and Ann Patterson; loving grandfather of Brian (Lauren) Patterson, Bree (Nick) Sudaric, Benjamin Patterson, Jackie (Levi) Logan and Rick Mader; step grandfather of Marie (Jimmy), Alexa Kostelnik and Michael Kostelnik; great grandfather of ten; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Al was a graduate of St. Thomas High School in Braddock and Duquesne University.  He was a Veteran of the Army serving in WWII and worked for US Steel as a safety engineer.  He was a man of great faith and was very active in his church life. He was a member of the St. Therese and Resurrection Choirs, and was also a lector, Eucharistic minister and a member of the prayer group and seniors club.  He was an avid bowler and golfer and was a member of the Mon Valley Men’s Bowling and Duquesne Country Golf Club.  Al was also involved in his community serving as a Boy Scout Treasurer and President of the Band Boosters at Bishop Boyle High School.  Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, 10:00 AM at St. Therese Church, Munhall.  Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Munhall.
