Age 77, Of West Mifflin, returned home to his Creator on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.  Born June 11, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John & Lillian (Koza) Sperhac.  Better known as Jack or Pappy to family and friends, he could often be found in his signature baseball cap watching the Pens or Steelers, or building in his workshop.  Jack was an animal-lover, especially fond of Shadow and Wrex, enjoyed golf, spending time at the beach, trying out his luck at casinos and eating Potato Patch fries and great pizza. John entered US Steel Homestead Works in 1958 and retired from the Big Shop as a purchasing agent in 1984, during which time he received 3 patents for his work as a machinist. John was a successful entrepreneur.  He founded and operated Industrial Products Repair Inc. established in 1985.  John was very proud of his contribution after the 9/11 attacks as a designer and builder of the torches aiding in the Twin Towers rescue and recover.   Surviving John are his wife of 57 years, and love of his life, Patricia (Harcum) Sperhac, adoring daughter Jacqueline (Michael) Bornak and beloved grandchildren, Katelyn (Alex) Miner, Michael and Meghann Bornak.  John is also survived by his brother, Lawrence (Gloria) and sisters, Rita Roper, Kathleen Nestler (Ron Fox), Sharon (Cliff) Karnes, and sister in law, Arlene Lloyd as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by brothers-in-law, Andrew Nestler,  Andrew Harcum, Harold Lloyd and Roy Roper and his cherished pets Peaches, Cinnamon and Pepper. John was a member of Resurrection Parish West Mifflin. Family and Friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC. 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Sunday 2-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 12 noon in St. Joseph Church, Duquesne followed by Christian burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The Humane Society.
