After several years of working for them, Lois and Bill became very important to me. Lois puts me in mind so much of my own mother, kind, sweet and nostalgic with a sassy side.
Bill, "my professor", always had interesting stories and taught me so much about history; WWII, where certain terms originated, Homestead's past and what my dad did during the war...the list goes on. My dad passed when I was 9 so I didn't know him well. I believe that he would have been so much like Bill. We always had the best and most interesting coversations.
With his passing we have lost an encyclopedia of first-hand knowledge and experience dating back to the Great Depression.
I missed him terribly when he moved and wanted to visit so many times but took for granted that he would be there so much longer...that will weigh heavily on my heart.
We are so sorry for the family and will be praying for you to be wrapped in God's love as you go through this time of mourning. You have lost a true gem of a father and grandfather and a hero to our country.
I will miss him very much.

Bill was a great guy. He will be missed. I have fond memories of him, especially from the beach. Rest in peace, Bill.
