On Saturday, September 19, 2015, the staff of the Savolskis - Wasik - Glenn Funeral Home, Inc. along with Stratwood Catering and Save-Mor Pop and Beer Warehouse hosted it's first Veterans Appreciation Day at West Mifflin Park and Ryan Hacke Memorial Playground.  A memorial service was held to remember veterans who passed through the funeral home in the last two years.  It was also a day to honor all veterans either home or abroad who are still in harms way. 

A delicious meal was served by Stratwood Catering after the memorial service and the beverages were provided by Save-Mor Pop and Beer Warehouse.  After lunch, musical entertainment was provided by American Band.

Raffles and T-shirt sales generated more than $2,600 which was donated to Operation Troop Appreciation.  OTA provides services for veterans returning home and support to those who are still in harms way over seas.  A great time was had by all.
