Benjamin Wasik Perovich
Supervisor
Ben has been a part of the SWG family his entire life. A sixth-generation Funeral Director and the son of Michael, he proudly continues his family’s longstanding tradition of compassionate service.
A lifelong resident of Munhall, Ben is a graduate of Steel Valley High School, The International Academy of Design and Technology, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He is also a member of St. Therese Church of Lisieux in Munhall.
Ben is the loving husband of Camila and the proud father of his son, Holden, and daughter, Maisie. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Alisha M. Guckes-Metz
Funeral Director, Aftercare Director, Notary Public
Alisha has been a valued member of the SWG family since 2009. A lifelong resident of the Steel Valley, she now resides in West Mifflin with her husband, Chad, and her sons, Logan Glenn and Zachary Charles.
She is a graduate of Steel Valley High School, California University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Dance, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She is a member of Source Church in West Mifflin.
In her role as Aftercare Director, Alisha is dedicated to supporting families beyond the funeral service. As part of that mission, she plans and hosts the annual Ladies Spring Tea — an event she is honored to lead in support of the women in her community. Alisha is also a Notary Public.
Alisha has a special love for tap dancing and enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two boys.
Kyra C. Mangold-Ostovich
Funeral Director, Certified Celebrant
Kyra has been a licensed Funeral Director serving families in the South Hills since 2015. A lifelong resident of the Steel Valley, she currently resides in Liberty Boro with her husband, Adam, and their daughter, Isla.
She is a graduate of Steel Valley High School, the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Anthropology, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.
As a Certified Celebrant, Kyra specializes in crafting personalized funeral services that honor and celebrate the life and legacy of each individual. Her compassionate approach allows families to create meaningful tributes that reflect their loved one’s unique story.
In her spare time, Kyra enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, and serving as a member of the Homestead Cemetery Board.

Thomas B. Barefoot
Funeral Director
Thomas joined the SWG family in 2021. A native of West Homestead, Thomas now resides in Munhall Gardens. He is a graduate of Steel Valley High School and holds a Master’s degree in History from the University of Akron.
Prior to joining SWG, Thomas spent two years in Ukraine serving with the United States Peace Corps, where he taught English at Precarpathian National University. His time abroad reflects his deep appreciation for culture, education, and service.
An avid reader, gardener, and cyclist, Thomas also enjoys writing fiction and practicing archery in his spare time.
Michael T. Perovich
Funeral Director
Michael has been a part of the SWG family since 1988. He grew up in Trafford, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Greensburg Central Catholic High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree and completed post-graduate studies at Gannon University.
Following his marriage to his wife, Donna Wasik, Michael attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and joined the team at SWG.
Michael resides in Munhall and is the proud father of three children — Ben, Rachel, and Hannah — and grandfather of Lexi, Holden, Walker, Sebastian, and Maisie. A longtime resident of the Steel Valley.
He enjoys watching professional football and high school basketball, reading about history, and traveling. Michael is a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Munhall and St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Homestead.
