Bonnie R. (Miller) Duran

Of Forward Township formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014, after a 2-year battle with lung cancer, age 72.  Bonnie was born on September 15, 1942, in Hazelwood, the daughter of the late Bernard H. Miller and Margaret (Horvath) Miller.  She was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph E. Duran, Sr. (A2C).  She is survived by her four beloved sons: Joe, Jr. (and daughter-in-law, Sharon Krivijanski), Chris, Michael, and Matt Duran  and by two grandchildren, Eric and Ryan Duran.  The eldest of three, Bonnie is also survived by her younger siblings, sister Claudia Lydon (husband Tom) and brother Bernard H. Miller III.  She was a loving aunt to John & Jeffrey Lydon and Sydney M. & Bernard M. Miller IV, and had a close and abiding friendship with her cousin, Connie Andres of Elizabeth Township.  Bonnie took great comfort in having all of her children and grandchildren at her side for one last Thanksgiving dinner together – it was a “gift,” she said, to have all of her boys gathered close around her.  After being diagnosed with cancer, Bonnie retired from First Student in Wall, PA, where she drove a school bus for many years.  She always enjoyed the company of her friends, co-workers, and the special-needs students whom she drove for.  Bonnie found encouragement in the kind words and loving gestures as well as the thoughts and prayers of her family and friends. She relished a good meal, a game of bingo, and going shopping. Family and friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Monday 2-4 and 6-9 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Church, West Mifflin.
